Talisman Jorginho Defied RedCard and ARTsenal Newfound Brilliance to Reclaim points for Lampard

It was fairytale start for Gunners. 90% accurate passes for the first 30 mins. And a goal against Almighty Lampard. It was so unexpected and un-Arsenal that fans gotta check what color of jersey Arsenal wore. The first half was like Arteta has swapped destiny with Chelsea. The blues were untidy, lost and looked over-assorted. The first goal was a fallout of a corner kick which Aubameyang stole off Emerson. Lampard didn't forgive the sleeping defender; he subbed him in the first half. Lacazette was full of misses as usual. But every other Gunners were economical and calm like it was a Guardiola era.  Alas, Lampard brought in the talisman Jorginho to reverse destiny. He undid the ARTsenal (a wedding of Arteta with Arsenal) fairytale. The voodoo man hoodwinked the referee to forgo a second-yellow cardable offense. He charmed Leno to out-fly a cross-in, which he tapped in effortlessly. Equaliser at 83 mins. Tammy the clumsy one  at 87 mins plucked Mustafi away to roll another

Arteta's play Seemed Fair but Arsenal Fandom can't yet Exude Confident Air

We may not call a draw fair but the attitude of players improve with care. After going a goal down, they saddled up and fought with earnest frown. New coach most times needs to start with winning. But Arteta got a spirited draw not convincing. Fans would feel better with the selection. Laca, Auba, Oezil, Torreira in his line-up was an elation. Gosling got the first goal and Gunners dredged unusually deep to get their equalising goal. Oezil with some creativity, Aubameyang with usual goal alacrity. Saka unconvincing while Xhaka was delivering. Torreira played his role while Laca missed a goal. Fandom wouldnt be carried away. It is not yet uhuru they say. Next game make or mar further the #ArtetaEra. #ARTsenal ---toonday

Boxing Day is for Heavy Punchers as Southampton Whipsawed Chelsea to a Merry-less Defeat

Lampard back-to-back home Defeat Raising Concerns for Fans. Fans swore but no goal came. It was the physical Obafemi that got Southampton to a champion start. Just like an opponent that was fell in the first round, the champion just needed to defend and wait for the killer punch which Redmond delivered with a coup de grace. Jorginho showing signs of burnout. Kante was at a low ebb. William reverted to normalcy. Redmond nutmeg-ed Chelsea defence at will. When playing wing back, Alonso always the better option. Zouma though clumsy still always very solid and permanent. Rudiger too impatient to tackle. Odoi has lost onions. Abraham's clumsiness more obvious because Pulisic wasn't there to simplify the defence for him. Lampard gotta take this and rejig the team. Fandom atmosphere soon will be choking if losses accumulate.  --toonday

Everton Game a Postmortem for Chicken Gunners

Arsenal is Sinking. Like a log of wood be-shackled by hefty luggage. Could Arteta save the club? Make it float again with buoyancy like a leaf? We know that the issue wasnt of Management alone but of the players too. They lack the winning attitude. And the passion to exert themselves as a champion. The game with Everton was the same show of ineptitude and shame. Everton was woeful too. Neither could secure a goal. The unbecoming of Arsenal. What will Arteta bring to the table? The so-called established players lack the right attitude and the youths lack the quality to impress the game. The whole line-up is a jamboree of inertness.  But Everton was another chicken that couldnt exploit a chicken Arsenal. Pepe was seated out. Oezil's attitude oozing a petulant decay. It is obvious. Nelson and Saka could not change the game. Defense did not concede but the midfield connected nothing. It was a postmortem for Arsenal. Fans knew that the invisibility is long dead. Future loss

Lampard Outclassed the Master: Chelsea dealt Spurs two goals to Nil

Chelsea took the bulling Spurs by the horns: no cautiousness but direct attack. Mourinho was defeated. Chelsea guys didnt come with a respect for the master but they were all brimming to establish dominance which they did. Rudiger was a no-nonsense man, manning the defense. Zouma still un-fooballer-like but always decent.Tomori, your model footballer, tidy through the game. Kovacic was silent but stringing passes. Kante was a beast that made me imagined a combo of him with a De Bruyne in a midfield will be almost unbeatable. While Abraham and Mount were decent, William was the Marshall that Spurs couldnt handle. His every touch weakened the Spurs defense. He got the first goal and converted the other.  The game was all blue and Spurs were all kung-fu fighting. Son got a red card. The goalie a yellow.  Welcome back to Premier League, Mourinho. --toonday

"Manchester United Taking points from the Rich and giving to the Poor" as Watford recorded a second win

Manchester United has proven their mettle against top-table teams getting points like its their birthright but floundered against small teams. Ismaila Sarr and Troy Deeney's strikes earned Watford their second win of the season. Meanwhile, Greenwood and Lingard's misses cost them United. Pogba came and outshone others. Yet no one could convert his lofty passes. Ole is building something. But who has the patience for this "constructor"? Some god whispered: Solskjaer - Living off 1999 De Gea - Living off reputation James - Living off August Lingard - Living off his passport Man United Goal Difference - Living off Chelsea #WATMUN What does next game bring? -toonday

Weekend of the Champs and Cramps

Champs do the winning and the cramps give us whining. Champs get the points and the cramps the pains. Liverpool started the weekend like a proper champ that they are. Sallah like the coming festival stood out in the game with two solid goals. The champ of the encounter, Bournemouth burned Chelsea with a lone goal. Is Lampard's ride changing fortune? No winning is permanent, obviously. Manchester United was saved by Greenwood. While one youngster was instrumental to his team's performance, another one ( Moise Kean) that entered as a sub was later subbed off because he looked knackered. Champs and Cramps. Be and the Wannabes! Talking of the Champs and Cramps, Gunners were gunned down. Decimated beyond reparation in the first half. De Bruyne ricocheting shot couldn't be stopped resulting into the first goal and Sterling stellar placement was also conceded, second goal. The third was still De Bruyne ruining the Gunners with a curvy shot that beat the defenders wi

ArsenalFC: Post Emery More Misery

A failure fails woefully if they have a bad counselor. The last two matches have shown that Lungberg couldn't have been a better counsel. Most clubs after relieving a fumbling coach will at least have a spiked up players playing with passion to prove the decision right. Even Chelsea at a point won Champions League after a coach departure. Lungberg's fault wasn't in fielding Willock in his games. Nor, seating out Pepe while Ozil was condemned to flank, Aubameyang to another flank and lukewarm Laca who couldn't impact the game. Verily, the issue is the absence of passion. Lungberg like his predecessor couldnt stoke up passion in the boys. Lazy senior players who aint ready to take responsibility to a notch high and a coach who couldnt make anyone give more. Even with Messi and Ronaldo, a talent manager would know that passion is key to doing extraordinarily well. The dearth of that is what Arsenal faces. That squad should have beaten Brighton Blue Black but Bri

Terminator Abraham Led Chelsea Back to Winning Ways

Lampard was  borrowed a respite from lynching critics and tongue lashing fans who don't see the emerging formidability in the team but were only concerned about immediate result. Terminator Abraham got the first goal through a free heading. M. Trezequet equalised for the Terry-led Aston Villa. And then chest-assisted Mount who screamed another into the net. Pulisic was great. Mount lacks the creative waves but he is a great shooter. Hudson needs to step up.  The win afforded Lampard enough relief. But the blues need backup for Abraham. Were you think of Giroud and Batshuayi? Maybe. Lampard would decide. --toonday

Manchester United Muffled Mourinho in a 2-1 defeat GameWeek 35

Manchester united like a threatened cobra struck Mourinho with speed. Rashord was the blizzard that stunned the Spur. He converted a loose ball with a lightening speed.  Tottenham never relented and they got the equaliser through Dele Alli. He outwitted Fred and Young with a cunning turning and curved the ball past De Gea. The game though balanced up yet Mourinho couldnt totally outclass the Red Devil. James needs to be switching flanks, he does better on the left than right. Son was erratic, with Moura silent. Delle Alli kept on "ronaldo-ing" for Mourinho. Meanwhile, Aurier is a bad crosser. Finally it was Rashford that was felled and he coolly converted the ensuing penalty. Rashy was classy tonight, his hunger was "Mbappe-ous". Greenwood was tidy. McTominay "scholes-Ed" the midfield.  Mourinho was indeed muffled by Manchester United. -toonday

Klopp Clobbered City as Guardiola Remained "Guard-less" against Liverpool Rain of Crosses

The constant thing is change and it is high time Guardiola dealt with his obsession with possession. In EPL any team would give up possession to take you on the break. Using the quick counter to beat you blue-black like Norwich did to Guardiola and Liverpool just did too.  The game started with the huge expectation of EPL title decider. City came all out unlike their past calm start. At the 6th minute Fabinho struck like Thor. Though VAR was unfair, yet it could be anybody. The second goal came from a sublime cross to Sallah who coolly converted. The third was a marvelous Henderson cross to Mane who also dive-nodded past a helpless Bravo.  Then, Guardiola took possession as core course while Aguero kept getting to chances late.  Klopp survival is the ability to use minimalist possession to get a goal. It is an economy of play. What seven short passes haven't done a single long cross would do so asap. When you play the long ball against him like Man UTD did he would

ChelseaCrippledPalace 2-0

With an average player age of 24, this team is the chelsea youngest ever starting eleven in Premier League. But the fire, the passion and the hunger smell of experience way above that age bracket. Pulisic has this sickening dribble skills that purge opponents of senses. He is definitely an upgrade to Hazard. With the quick eyes for goals, you never can get a better value for such price. It was Abraham that got the first goal. Fans need to respect this lad. He has been in the thick and thin of this season with Chelsea and his goals have been fundamental to their standing in the EPL table. Pulisic the captain America got the second. He dribbled and shot with his triggered-happy legs but the woodwork denied him. Thus, if the legs won't be lucky, he bested the goalie with a header. Lampard cruising and Chelsea ship is having a wonderful sail despite the rough starts to the season. We kowtow.  --toonday

Bright Man UTD Beat Brighton Blue-Black

Ole guys were excellent in attack. Guess the DNA is coming back. There was a different passion. Perreira got on the scoresheet first. Mc Tominay joined him making it two for the Red Devil.  Brighton tried not to go down easily. They got one back but Rashford sealed the game and took it beyond redemption for the less brightened Brighton.  Rashford is capable of many things if the passion can be sustained. James is absolutely promising but needs a proper handler too, so that he won't simmer off like Rashford did. Martial needs to drop his shoulder and work more. Ego is a bastard that makes all the player's faults more pronounced.  #OleStillOnTheWheel --toonday

Despite his Witless Loss against Leicester, Emery still has the Backing of the Board

Fans of Arsenal rooted for Leicester to humiliate them just so that Emery could be sent packing. But gods do football answer prayers according to their own devise at times. I saw fans jubilating half-heartedly, with a surface joy that belied their pains when Leicester scored. All in the name of #EmeryOut. For the game, Vardy got the first goal and Maddison a nice second. Leno tried but at long last he "photoshopped". The result came as willed but Emery stays like forever as the board has resolved that they are behind Emery of Emirate.  Finally, we know. No amount of disgrace could stir the board once profit is unaffected or they won't part with more money.  Pocket smiles and fans cry. But there's always a hope that gets people believing next season will be better. #NextSeasonFC ---toonday

Emery Tactics Lacked Merry as Arsenal could not protect the lead against the Wolves

Wolves came for the jugular but Arsenal got the first goal that made a comfortable start. Complacency as usual set in, as Arsenal held a lead but they couldn't increase the tally. Fans and the betting fans knew the outcome. Arsenal under Emery has become an FDT (full time draw) team. Some gods say: Like the Newtons law, for every Arsenal goal there must be an opponent scoring. It doesn't matter if its five or one. Aubameyang scored the first goal. Lacazette set him up. But the Wolves after many attempt equalised through Raul's header.  No comment on Arsenal lukewarm performance: the fact is Emery has lost the rudder to drive the team-ship to a comfortable coast even his substitutions are game killing.  The whole world,  whole team, the whole fans know except the Boards. Meanwhile, with the meeting of mourinho spreading like a wild fire in a dry season, let's see how long he last. ---toonday

Rashford the Carrabao Ronaldo Listless against a Dutiful Bounemouth

They say he that maligns the crown, the king condemns. It was King that condemned the red devil to a 0-1 defeat. The king kings over everything-- including the devil. J. King got the only "kinging" goal of the game with a sly turning and a scissor flick. Wan Bissaka was lost behind him. Some god whispered " but they beat Chelsea and acted like Rashford was like CR7 in his prime. Enter Bournemouth and BOOM! They lost DNA and their rediscovered brilliance. Another god said Perreira was a different kind of number 10. Give him two slices of bread. He couldn't create a sandwich. Is this the second round of Man Utd curse? They beat Chelsea 4-0 earlier in the league, they did not win their next four games . Again, they have beaten Chelsea.  The simple moral of the lesson is stopping beating Chelsea, a god warned the red devil.  Now that they can't be meeting Chelsea every week, they better be ready for losses. #OleConfused. ---toonday

Tammy Terrific and Pulisic Masterclass: Lampard Collected all Points at Vicarage Road

Last season, Jorginho got more of jeers but now it all cheers. He set up Tammy beautifully and the finish was as exquisite as the assist. Pulisic, captain America, scored the second goal: his fourth in a week. Tammy provided the assist. Lampard is doing great. Chelsea rolling high undeterred by detractors. Kovacic moves like Hazard, with intelligence that makes dribble a fluid motion. Jorginho is going gung-ho and showing a side fans never believed he had.  Kante gotta do more to sit either of them now. Mason Mount, despite being a Lampard protege, ensures his work rate speaks for him. Lampard is giving the fans what Sarri promised.  The fantasy could last. fingers crossed. --toonday

True True Mark of a Champion: Both Liverpool and Manchester City Came from behind to Claim Maximum Points in their Matches

Klopp called his boys mentality monsters and of course they are. Coming from behind three times in a week to secure victory was massive. Aston Villa got the first goal and they intended to sit on it. They pushed and held forth till like 80 minutes into the game when Robertson equalised and Mane got the most dramatic winner at the tick-tock of the last minute. They are the king of comebacks. No one does it better than Klopp guys. #AVLLIV On #MCISOU James Ward Prowse tucked a rebound from Stuart Armstrong strike to put Sothampton ahead. City heaved and puffed before they could get an equaliser. Until Kyle Walker secured a goal and later assisted Aguero for the winner. Kyle Walker, the savior. Guardiola would love to be ahead but Klopp this time would not be willing to relinquish such lead. It unfolds we follow sha! --toonday

Spineless Spur Lost Early Lead and the match to a Livered Klopp in 2-1 Scoreline

A perfect start it was when Son attempted a long shot that Harry Kane poached. Like a lazy dog drawing the first blood, Spur retracted and hoping the game could help forever at the moment. But Liverpool with champion feelings pulsing in their blood, kept tugging at spur defense. And thus, spur fortitude caved in. Captain Henderson got the equaliser and M sallah got the winner through a penalty. It was another VAR horror. Mane wasn't really fouled. He intercepted Aurier's attempt to kick out but VAR called penalty.  VAR is gaffe. Liverpool deserved the win. 10 unbeaten games, still counting. --toonday

Crystal Reality as Arsenal Lost a Palatial Two-goal Lead to draw with Crystal Palace Amidst Xhaka's Drama and VAR Politics

Emery started well. 2 early goals before 10 mins from Sokratis and Luis respectively was a fortunate start he wouldn't have envisaged. But the lead got squandered and tireless Crystal Palace equalised with a palatial relish. Pepe couldn't transfer his midweek exploits to the game. He couldn't net a similar freekick. Guendouzi was immense. Emery subbed Xhaka for Saka. Little difference, I dare say. Xhaka threw tantrums, the captaincy band and his shirts to the ground because he was jeered. Guess his departure is gonna be mutual consent. Fans tired and he is also tired. A god said, just like the hash tag, #ArsCry. They did as they bottled a fortuitous lead. Another god said that VAR was Video Assisting Robbery. For VAR, all nah politics. Machines cannot weigh intentions but could only see a fall , an obstruction or a gesture. Emery tactics aint winning. Arsenal need to rejig or else the Red Devil will soon catch 'em. ---toonday

Chelsea Beat the Fire out of Burnley in a Six-Goal Thriller

Chelsea made beating Burnley so easy. Captain America, Pulisic was simply too hot for Burnley. His first strike with the left after he beat like two players. His second with the right leg beating like two players and the third strike a back head flick that beat half of the opponent team waiting to defend the corner. Williams got the fourth Goal and Burnley wouldn't die easy as they flickered two beautiful goals past a rooted Kepa. 2-4. Captain America seemed more hazardous than Hazard. Pulisic direct runs seem more threatening because he has eyes for goals and a forceful strike to beat the keeper. Mount always silent when tucked in the mid field but he delivered decently. Tomori and Zouma have been named the Gilbratar and the rock because of their solidity in recent games. Jorginho has manifested a beautiful lively side and Kovacic the maestro dictating tunes that confused the opponent. Lampard thrives despite the ban. Youths shouldering the team. Imagine Chelsea wasn'

Pastor Wilson was Right but his Video was Wrong

Pastor Wilson took pastoral care a notch up into the other room where he ate coochie with a "porn-craft". Like saving his flock, he knew the security of a woman's fidelity might at times be in her orgasm. His video retort was fraught with his inability to understand the concept of "negative rights". Rights that are not supposed to be subjected into (public glare) actions.  You totally have the right to have a behavioural preference in the other room (some viewers could even have worse). But once a footage like the current one is leaked, you owe the public an apology not vulgar justification.  What really happened? A footage of pastor Wilson eating VJ was trending. The pastor then released a video calling on his immense social responsibility as a feat that most of his critics hasn't reached and that he likes eating coochie and " fuck you all".  Thus, our contention here is not to fault his pastoral passion in the other room but

Old Trafford Roared as Ole Frightened Klopp

The weekend tension could be felt from England to Ibadan as the football atmosphere was thickened with pregnant optimism from Ole and Klopp's no-nonsense craze to set the record straight. Klopp believed Ole should be taught a lesson for that optimism and Ole hung the hope of continuing his job on the outcome of the match. Just as promised, a dying tiger fights dirty. Soksjaer startled the football world in the first half of the game. He played the Liverpool ways: long balls with quick counter. He got the only goal in the first through the nimble footed James' assist. Rashford trashed it into the net. Old Trafford roared and beliefs soared. Liverpool was expecting the usual: where the opponent would be trying to out-create them in the midfield and they (Liverpool) would use your errors to punish you. Many first half events like a claim of Origi being fouled before the buildup to the goal was checked on VAR. But Liverpool was VAR unfortunate in the game as Mane early goal w

On the Eve of 9ja Independence Day, Clueless Ole drew 1-1 with Tactless Emery in a Match Flawed with Errors and Mediocrity

As reported, Jim Beglin said " we watching mediocrity tonight" and Peter Drury " yes, they are certainly not top 2". Gone are those days when the prematch heated expectations were met with fiery encounters between both teams. Now, they are empty shells of their old selves like a 59 year old Nigeria still fighting teething problems. After some close calls and market place efforts, McTominay commandeered a rare brilliance by putting a shot where no eagle could stop. #Xhaka-doom dropped his head and it flew by. For Arsenal, it was a better Saka, young and unbelievably confident that set up Aubameyang. Auba, as usual, slotted home. And it ended that 1-1. Both teams' playwork were poor, players were poor, officiating also poor, but only VAR stood brilliant.  Emery was tactless, unbecoming, and undoing himself. You need to understand the problem before solving it. Nigeria doesn't and Emery doesn't either, yet they both expect developments and points

Emery Tactless as the Old Familiar Feelings Hung over Guileless Gunners in a Rueful Draw to Watford

Emery would pluck his throat as if there was wisdom or tact coming from that but every decision has proven him tactless. A top team that would bottle 2-0 lead in an awful and error ridden show is yet to be a top team...either the players are bad, or the leader is lost. The merry first started with Aubameyang's brace and gunners were running and raining their mouths and exuberant euphoria respectively.  The first half ended without the gunners smelling the mess to come  in the nearest 45-minute future.  When the familiar feelings descended in the second half...Xhaka-doom was simply "xhaka-stic" (sarcastic) doing the opposite of what he's played to ( he disappeared or possibly was swallowed in the mid field). Sokratis, with almost a philosophical name, committed the most pragmatic error to gift Watford first goal.  8 million Luiz played the 8 million role, like a championship player committed a gory penalty to complete the comeback of Watford. Pepe no pepper, Wil

A City Fell but A Manchester Rose Unitedly as Once-A-Champion Leicester Lost Onions against Red Devil and PukkiParty Swallowed Guardiola

While supremacy for Manchester has been dominated by the City week in week out, this weekend, Manchester stepped up and  got whopping three points against once-mighty Leicester City.  Penalty FC...sorry, Manchester United FC got another penalty in the game ( 4 penalties this season in 4 games). Rashford converted coolly. United had some other beautiful freekick moments but the game was extremely uneventful as Leicester slept instead of fighting tough. The whole 1.45 hr. game only had highlightable moments of 2 mins. But Red Devil got their points and James as bright as ever with some breezy and brisk runs. Pogba,  I guess, wasn't missed. It was a city that swallowed a city when Norwich city outscored Man city. Some gods whispered what Aguero does, Pukki does it better. And to Guardiola, the fear of Pukki had started.  The first goal for the Norwich was a fortunate corner kick coolly converted. The second and the third were Otamendi's messes. Aguero scored one for Man

The Mane (main) Liverpool Smashed the Castle as the Magpies earlier Goal was just like Building a Newcastle in the Air.

The main Man(e) mangled the Magpies despite their bold start to the game. Wilems early goal for Newcastle was a spur that awakened the killing instinct in Klopp's guys. For first goal was curler from Mane, another from him, before a beautiful interchange between Firmino and Sallah resulted into a salacious goal. Klopp was hysterical with a wilder jubilation than a triplet daddy after so many years of failed pregnancy. Klopp celebrates each win and goal like it's his first. No wonder his guys have passion to do more now and then. It's so relieving to fans seeing Sallah and Mane on scoresheet notably celebrating together.  Liverpool is the deal now. No point missed: the A student.  Liverpool Smashed the Castle as the Magpies earlier Goal was just like Building a Newcastle in the Air.  --toonday

Tomori Thundered, Tammy Tamed the Ferocious Wolves while Mount Murdered any Hope for a Point in Molineux

From the Academy to the world, Chelsea's ban this season already looking like a blessing as those unappreciated stones at home were proving to be gems of immeasurable worth. Chelsea's goals this season came from all the young players. Buoyed by, do not forget, the Lampard Effect. Tomori first thundered a screaming shot into the net to scare the stubborn Wolves.  Then like a Thanos, Tammy Abraham completed his "Tammy-trick" ( his is not the general hat trick with a consolation gift for the opponents )  in a spate of 21 minutes. The amazing ease at which he scored from both his legs and head was stupendous. Fans loved it. And some gods whisper " Tammy, remove that mask. We know it's Drogba". Even Tammy got an own goal for the bewildered Wolves. And another quick addition by the Wolves to make 2-4. Hope arisen at Molineux? Ever steadfast and hardworking, general-in-the-making Mason Mount muttered "no!" and murdered the seeming hope in M

Chelsea Nemesis still Haunting Red Devil as they Remained Condemned to Witless Draw despite James' Brilliance and the Ever-gallant City Kept Manchester Alive Beating Brighton Blue-Bright

Southampton lost three points and moribund United lucky to get one point. James with a wonder strike and living up to the expectation. While Manchester City Trounced Brighton 4-0 with De Bruyne early goal, Aguero brace and Bernado Silva capped it with the last goal. The glory lost in United seemed to be found in City. Liverpool also beat the "burn" out of Burnley with three goals to nil. Mane had a fit against Sallah for his selfish attempt to forcefully get on score sheet. Hopefully the rivalry be healthy, or else an indicator of bad turns. Mane could be at times selfish but I guessed his pent up anger bursted as a result of the substitution. And that Klopp gave preference to Sallah as a mighty untouchable over an indifferent Firmino and a jealous Mane.  EPL continues anyway and tales to unfold shall tell us more. ---toonday

Chelsea Bottled 2-0 Lead to Draw 2-2 with Sheffield United: a Weak Defence that Tarnished Tammy's Brilliant Brace

Unabashed euphoria as tall Tammy got the first goal and second goal for Chelsea. Fans went agog with superlatives: the "DrogbaRegen". " my numero 9", "I can smell a Hatrick" etc. It was all beautiful fast paced football with Chelsea reasonably dominating in the first half, unbeknownst that its a "drawtrick". So the first half ended 2-0 with Chelsea winning. But in the second half it was a depleted Chelsea side as Sheffield "sherrifed" the pitch and took over the reign. Their "sheriffing" resulted into two goals.  Fans were stupefied and wondered where they got it wrong. Was it their first half coach or their first half team?  Zouma was tacky and looked shaky with decisions. Tomori appeared solid and with some disconcerting confidence. Mount still very wild and hungrier than his age. Tammy did his best but shaky defence and gassed out midfield cost Chelsea. The substitution of Gilmour also aided nothing in absorbing the S

Manchester United CRY-ied as Van Aanholt Hurt the Red Devil while James' Brilliant Strike was Pointless

The premature euphoria of the win over Chelsea had waned and Manchester United players faced their reality check. Ayew started the first chewing with a sublime goal. Brilliant James lived up to Giggs' encomiums by scoring a curler to save a point, yet the big lads couldn't step up games and Van Aanholt secured the winner for Crystal Palace. Zaha inhumanely dribbled Ashley Young like Ronaldo did Ashley Cole. Ashley must have it in them. They were not outplayed but outscored. The team seemed to have lost clinical finish. So much painful that Manchester could not be said to be red again. The "Devil" has lost, as the "blueness" of the "holy sky" is taking over.  The same game week that Manchester City condemned Bournmouth to 1-3 defeat--Sterling 1 Aguero 2 goals, while another wonderkid Wilson scored a beautiful freekick against Guardiola.  And an unconfirmed source reported: *Peter Drury* "You look at Marcus Rashford, he has the  s

Teemu Nearly Tamed Chelsea but Wild Tammy Terminated Norwich's Hope

It was a punch for punch match between the confident underdog and winning-seeking Chelsea. It was no hold back encounter and strikers of both teams lived up to the expectations.  So early in the game, Tammy Abraham converted the first goal with a venom of a threatened snake: it's a territorial war between chelsea's strikers now. Crafty Pukki lived up to his past veteran exploits. Being given extra attention, he set up Cantwell for a tap in equaliser.  In the same first half, young Mount showed some stuff he inherited from his mentor Lampard. He cut in and flashed the second goal into the net. Chelsea's fans were hysterical; they haven't so seen goals flowing much this season.  But mighty Pukki won't have any of it. He sublimely converted a goal past Chelsea goalie. Teemu couldn't stop poaching. Lampard must have thought the world was crashing as stalemate could mean pundits slying him for the week again.  But Abraham, like the classic father of fa

Matip and Sallah Put the Gonners to blade as Liverpool's Superiority over Arsenal continues this season

The difference between this Liverpool and Arsenal was simply that between a turgid and flaccid manhood, both blessed with the opportunities but where the former strikes the latter would always go limp with excuses.  The first forty minutes went by without a goal despite ample opportunities created. Liverpool soaked Arsenal with breathless pressure. At the 41st minute, it was magic Matip header that got the first goal. Leno couldn't flick it. Liverpool couldn't increase the tally in the first half. The second-half-seeking of a possible equaliser got Arsenal conceding more goals. A foul on Sallah by David Luiz set up the second goal penalty. It was the same David that left Sallah to skid past freely for the third goal. Sallah slotted past helpless Leno.  Everything crumbled for the gonners as confusion got them mishandling ordinary possession. Luis must be a Chelsea spy sent to crash the Emirates just as Man UTD Silvestre did for Arsenal against Drogba: Some past rep

#SayNoToRacism

Racism is cruelty. A kind of dehumanising thought process that can lead to murder. A mind that is capable to seeing another human as an animal is extremely unfeeling and needs a total exorcist redemption.  We won't dignify the anomaly with a definition but simply to note that it's a genealogical abuse and insult to a particular race. It has manifested more in football because the sport is a unifying factor that married many races together, within a team or league or competition. Racism cannot be forgiven nor be indifferently treated as an emotional gaffe. Because such mind only expresses its hidden thoughts at that emotional peak.   Even instances where a name could be confused with an insult, our thoughts shouldn't commit that atrocity. For example, where the line between Yoruba-name for "a gorilla" and Spaniard real name muddled --a player called "Inaki" Williams, we must make a clear distinction when making a reference to that sturdy handsome

Red Devil martial Strike was Cancelled out by Neves Super-Strike as Pogba Rued his Penalty Loss

. The wolves would always fight back in packs, their ferocity could startle the reddest of the Devils. Despite a lukewarm start to the game, Martial martyr-ly scored through a martial strike. Rui Patricio couldn't parry what he couldn't see. United Devil failed to capitalize on the lead but were feeling comfy in passing around. Lingard lingered and was terribly poor with rueful misses. Rashford disturbingly silent. McTominay's blond hair couldn't make him a Scholes.  Thus, the Wolves fought back in packs. Neves bent one home to bring the Wanderers level. VAR god-eye almost destroyed the joy but the gods smiled on the Wolves and the Devil put to shame. Pogba got and missed a penalty kick. The rhapsody of 4-0 win over Chelsea had been condemned to a drab draw in Molineux moment. Red Devil with wayward passes devoid of focus, passion or needed creativity as they lost two points tonight.  Next week may be better but every point is worth it.  ---toond

Burnley nearly Burnt Arsenal but the Gooners Survived the Scathe: Liverpool Tasted Southampton Sourness but also Won while Creative City was VAR-robbed of the Sought Victory as Lucky Spurs Got a Point.

Arsenal fans like a glutton's first encounter of a tasty meal couldn't stop mouthing Ceballos. The dude slayed with beautiful assists in his first EPL start. Lacazette was a live crocodile fighting dirty for that first goal; unbelievably off-balance yet he converted. Burnley retaliated and got a muddled equaliser. Luiz was decently solid and Ceballos, generous with passes.  Aubameyang got the winner to make it 2-1, a beautifully converted Henri-esque goal.  Southampton stood up and shook the champion, creating chances but the rejigged ( (re-Dijked) Liverpool Defense won't concede easy. Mane converted a beautiful curler. Firmino got the second with another Henri-esque one. Southampton won't die easy as they got on scoreline through Liverpool outcast Ings. CitySpurs was a battle of wit. Creativity versus doggedness. Guardiola's creative tactics met Spurs inexhaustible doggedness. Pochetino waited for the right time to poach while Cityzen did all the playing y

The Paper Champion Liverpool won but Chelsea Outperformed the European Champion only to Lose in a Penalty Shoot-out.

Unlike the expected bantering, Chelsea was almost the Mexican Ruiz that fell the much-touted champion Anthony Joshua but penalty shoot out and Offside call saved the Champion. Giroud got the first goal and substituted Firmino engineered a rough equaliser for Mane. The second for Liverpool came through the same ever-delivering Mane and Tammy Abraham got a penalty, stunningly converted by Jorginho. 2-2 in the extra time. Though they created many chances, hit bars again, had goals disallowed But Chelsea later lost in the penalty shoot out.  Kante was missed during Man UTD, his intermittent solo drives and his wall-like shielding of centre backs was felt. Pulisic's dribble was unlike Hazard but better with his sharp eyes for assists and goals. Mount is a becoming unstoppable player...combative and with Oscar-like shot. Tammy Abraham is intelligent. Tomori is promising. Pedro though losing possession has a wildling runs that nobody can match--he chases dead balls to turn them t

Manchester United must be a Muslim as they Slaughtered Chelsea like a Sallah Ram: 4-0 with each goal for a limb and Arsenal also Survived Newcastle Scare with 1-0 scoreline

Chelsea was at first lively and full of confident excitement like a rambunctious ram. But Manchester United like a calculated Muslim fully cognizant of the ram's compulsory death calmly dealt with the Chelsea's initial hoopla ( gragra) and Rashford fell against Zouma impatient tackle and converted the resulting penalty.  The game then changed to favour united. Lampard substitute killed their chase for equalizer as Giroud impact couldn't be felt. Martial and Rashford scored in quick succession to compound Chelsea's woes and James the speedster capped it on his EPL cap. Maguire is the solidity Man Utd needed. Bissaka is calmly intelligent. #OleOnTheWheel On another turf, Arsenal survived a scare as Newcastle refused to let points cheaply but Aubameyang converted coolly to put Arsenal ahead. Pepe came on and Ceballos also but nothing of their brilliance was seen. Next week be soon here.  --toonday

Liverpool Basked Norwich in 4-1 defeat and Guardiola Hammered the Hammers 5-0 as the Duopoly in EPL Chase Seemed to Continue.

Norwich suffered the baptism of EPL fury with 4-1 punishment from the current European champion Liverpool. Still a Mane-less lineup but he later came in for Origi. Norwich scored an own goal, while Sallah's selfishness was still obvious. He got the second goal, Van Dijk the third and Origi headed one in. Norwich, proving themselves, did not go down whimpering but got on the score sheet through a clinical Temu Pukki's goal (ageless and a veteran). Cantwell a 19 year old lad looks a combo of Modric space-creating play and Kaka's first touch dribble. Guardiola as ever competitive also hammered West hammers 5-0 to prove a point in the First Gameweek of EPL as the Duopoly-race has started again. People kept muttering "This is Mahrez season". The dude was all over the pitch taunting and tormenting the Hammers. Sterling as the dictionary meaning of his name states, was sterling with a stellar performance securing a hat trick. Gabriel Jesus was on the scoresheet be

Community Shield: Kyle Walker Saved the Cityzen from Losing to "Mane-less" Liverpool as Wijnaldum Missed in the Penalty Shoot Out.

Community Shield: Kyle Walker Saved the Cityzen from Losing to "Mane-less" Liverpool as Wijnaldum Missed in the Penalty Shoot Out. First trophy of the season as the brawl between Klopp and Guardiola fuelled with heated expectation, but the absence of Mane proved as a disadvantage for combative Liverpool.  Sallah played okay for a player who had been absent from the preparatory training. He missed a solid chance earlier in the game before Raheem Sterling did a tap-in past an unlucky Becker. Bravo doubled as a goal keeper cum centre-back with a mind to win Guardiola's heart. The first half was all City and injured Sane left the pitch for Gabriel Jesus.  Rodri was calm and capable of exploiting loose midfield: a definite good buy but never a Fernandinho.  The second half was Liverpool call. They pressed hard but lucky City though missing their injured Sane tried to smother the storm. But Matip got the equaliser for Liverpool with an assist from rock solid Van Dijk

As an Adolescent Child, Leaving the Comfort Zone

Parents would hardly understand just as you won't if your pet ( a cat, if you love cats) of many years is big enough to be undomesticated ( a cat leaves home when it is growing too big). That's a pet. Now imagine how it would feel for your mother who carried you for months unseen and you emerged with tiny-parts that marvelously developed into you.  At teenage, there's this air of defiance and deviance. Not only to parents but to social standards. That's why upright habits formed at this age is hard to lose and otherwise.  Your mind to your parents is like a new novel that every chapter holds episodic suspense. They see you developing that independent rationality that marvels them; You of tiny parts years ago.  How do you treat your favorite and most sensational novel that you are yet to fully devour its climactic chapters? You won't want to release it to the world just as your parents seek to have you close. Anyway, we are prayerfully expected to ou

A Father Nonetheless

A father should be a hero: gallant, and valiant. That's relatively the social expectation of a father figure. For such structure, fatherhood extends beyond sperming an ovum.  That's our expectations. Failure on these expectations sees the society questioning the father of his moral claim on the child.  For a mother, there is the unmatchable and unquestionable nine-month sacrifice that any amount of post-birth mishap or misnomer could not erase. The pain a mother passes through during birth is beyond any bearable decibel.  Therefore the baggage of expectation is often much on the father, as the mother's nature-induced pain has compensated for anything. When a father fails, the society and the child complain. But, should that mindset be coming from the child without considering other factors? Many a father nowadays desires to be a role model but the gnawing environment saps their realities to pitiable shambles. No excuse for them though but time is hars

Of Nigerian HR and the Teeming Youths

There’s a thin line of difference between being boisterous and confident. Also, the determination of what is rude is often how the expression is perceived. HR Taiwo interviewed this brilliant dude who wanted to impress her with a simple compliment of “you smell nice”. HR Taiwo retorted “you are rude!” Twitter went agog with varying ideas. While some concluded that Nigerian HR acted like a mini-god, some decried the audacity of the guy. What was HR expecting? A respectful "ma" to follow? Or she regarded the compliment as audacious flirting? What was the interviewee trying to achieve also? A memorable closure to the interview? Or a simple display of his confidence? I understand she was too harsh with the retort but people can be that difficult. As an interviewee, do not allow yourself to be goaded into a position where such unruly interviewer will have a chance to hack you down. Flamboyant confidence can maim your chance with sadists on the seat "You smell nice"
